BMX and music have always shared a lot in common, creative worlds work like that. So Rudimental’s new music video for “Waiting All Night” takes that link to the next level. The clip tells the story of San Francisco born BMXer Kurt Yaeger, who became an amputee in 2006 as a result of a riding accident. The video shows Kurt’s journey through rehabilitation, and the inspiring story in returning to the BMX world with his friends that include the likes of legend Jimmy Levan (who by the way telepathically made Alexander McKee say ‘Tig ol Bitties’ randomly at a bar we were at just the other night, probably while riding off that roof in the clip I gather) and Ryan Metro. Amazingly powerful story line to this clip, that might even get you a bit misty, I know I was… Waiting All Night featuring Ella Eyre and is out now here. For more information on the inspiration that is Kurt you can contact him here: http://kurtyaeger.com So good to see BMX in the big time world being portrayed in a legit manner. On the music vid front, I hear Danny Campbell and Ammon Chesworth were filming a music video last weekend too. Hell yes.
Colony have started dropping sections from their full length 2011 DVD release which was a banger. First off the rank is the opening part by the hardest hitting dude in Australian BMX, Mick Bayzand. He put in work for this and it shows. His injury list for this section is pretty epic too. I’m sure the debate is still going on that this could’ve closed the DVD. That said the closer is f’n epic… I dare say that’ll drop in the near future.
